What are the advantages (if any) of using a "car bra," and what are reasons not to use one? We live in south-central Florida, not terribly close to the Gulf (about fifteen miles inland), so the salt water isn't really a factor, but the bi-annual infectation of so-called "love bugs" might be a major consideration. So I have a black "leather" car bra, and my dad says I cannot leave it on while I wash it. I go to the self-serve car wash places with the power hoses. So is he right, should I take it off every time I wash it? Or Leave it on? Whats the diffrence between that and when it rains?
